Popular Television & Celebrity Chef Jason Peru has stated that he has submitted candidacy for the seat of Caroni East in the upcoming General Elections, 2020 with the United National Congress.

Chef Jason who has continued to represent Trinidad & Tobago by travelling the world extensively and shooting both culinary travel shows and cooking productions also within the Caribbean is poised to enter the realm of politics.

Peru who was educated both locally and abroad has earned massive follow ship locally as well as intentional appeal and is the holder of a BSc Hons in Culinary Management & Artistry from Johnson & Wales University as well as a Master’s Degree in Marketing (Heriot Watt University) with emphasis on media  and comes from a strong background in Tourism and Hospitality. A former Culinary Professor and Lecturer at the local Culinary University, Chef Jason has had extensive exposure to a young, vibrant and upcoming demographic that now holds a major part of the voting power in Trinidad.

Motivations

Peru plans to use this opportunity to give back to his country by being able to represent, inspire and motivate citizens within the Caroni East area and greater Trinidad. His ambition is poised on boosting credibility and function to the youth and empowering them to work on their natural talents and skill sets. Chef Jason has already begun walking the constituency while meeting residents and talking about some of their concerns and visions for the area. He has claimed that some of his focus realms are destined to build upon the creation of platforms and projects to inspire the youth of the area. He speaks about urging to propel them into entrepreneurship and harness their personal skills and services to help boost the economic power of the constituency and raise their overall spirit and moral standing. He also spoke about his ambition of increasing technology in schools and accessibility of proper road & traffic infrastructure for residents to efficiently arrive to work and school, to thereby stimulate daily production.

Civic Duty

Chef Jason remains very driven about his motivations of being the proposed representative for Caroni East and sees his approach as being very out of the box as compared to the traditional mind sets and applications that stems from within the redundant and banal thinking for the past years. He believes that many are very quick to criticize approaches and applications but never step up to do anything about it and prefer to sit on the sidelines and find fault and hurl pejoratives. It is with this notion that he decided to not be like the others, but to be extraordinary and actually do something about improving our land and working toward building Trinidad & Tobago. “I have always been fueled by passion for life and remain a very emotional human being who values people and their feelings, I plan to become a spectacular change instrument and leave my country better than the way I found it. “I am assured that this credo falls seamlessly in line with the vision that Mrs. Kamla Persad Bissessar has for our great nation”.
